Linear, but I loved it.
well... for those who don't understand, you have to trace the cursor along the arrow to the library - from the bottom to the top.
But Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer are BOTH main characters in Twain's literature...
Not sure it lived up to the potential
First of all: I love these games.
But the inability to control multiple planes really diminished the experience - it would be awesome to set up a battle with a couple of fast planes and a fortress vs a wave of enemy fighters.
It also didn't really seem like you were defending anything. If enemy bombers had been doing bombing runs on ground-based targets, maybe there'd be an incentive to take them out quicker, for example...
Anyway, I realise you're just testing the waters for a large-scale Steambirds game... But this was too repetitive, and choosing multiple planes to control would have allowed for greater customisation and replayability.
It's a lot of fun. But it REALLY LAGS!
In terms of gameplay, it's great! But it just slows down so much that I had trouble enjoying it - it's not much of a frenzy, at 10 FPS.
I'm sorry, because in every other respect this was amazing.
...I really enjoyed all three of your games, and I'm glad you're trying new things with this one... but why not add scrolling? It's not that difficult to code... You can use bitmap caching for the non-moving bits of the background (or bits that only scroll, that aren't animated).
Also, in all your games, there seems to be no limit to the speed at which you can fall downwards... maybe a limit of 20 pixels per frame, or something, would make it look more natural.
Anyway, great work.
It's like Jade Wolf
Or rather, Jade Wolf is like this game! Check it out, it's pretty cool.
Similar concept, probably developed same time. Check Jade Wolf out, it's pretty cool too...
I like originlity in games!
This game is pretty awesome, conceptually! It deserves a higher score than it has...
The graphics could be a little better, something like Yoshi's Island - colourful, and lots of character...
I really enjoyed the gameplay, the only reason I think people are turned off is because it looks a bit ugly. And maybe the controls could be a little faster...
Thanks for the wonderful review! The art is intentional because i wanted the game to be memorable in a way that everytime you see your keyboard you think of this game. So the keyboard has to be photorealistic. and the story has actionhero jumping out into the real-world so enemies has to be realistic too.
The controls are implemented that way (hold direction to move) because jumping is double tap. We had to find a way to let the game distinguish b/n moving and jumping without adding another button.

Good game, should be faster, though
Good concept, good execution.
BUT... I feel I want the pieces to move faster! As in, you drag them, they're so slow! This is obviously great for accuracy, but also annoying...
Great Idea, lazy execution
I LOVE the idea that the tutorial is a level. You get the marks for that alone.
But the background colour is horrendous, the text is small, the animation is choppy, the instructions aren't that clear...
But you know that already. Anyway, good idea, if you do a more in depth one, it'll score really well!
